    SIRI – $120,000,000 = Mitini

    by  • October 23, 2011 • Projects • 12 Comments

UPDATE: When i made Mitini, it was a for-fun/learning experience/challenge for myself. I used free APIs available on the web to perform some functions and never intended or expected it to be used by so many people (im greatful for that!). But since, it has been used so many times, (in just the past 2 days, I have exceeded more 25 times my allotted MONTHLY API requests!!) the providers have blocked any more requests. Therefore, Mitini will not be able to function properly. I am very sorry for that but there is nothing I can do. They would like to discuss licensing of the API however I can’t afford it (student life :P ).

When Apple demonstrated the SIRI on their iPhone 4s, I was pretty amazed – I mean, its crazy! Talking to an electronic device to make it do stuff! Now everyone can somewhat feel like Iron Man. I had heard about Siri before. It was an app on the App Store. Aftering google’ing ‘siri, I found out that it was actually acquired by Apple in April of 2010 for an estimated $120,000,000 dollars.

    That’s a lot of money!

So i was wondering if i could make my own “Siri”. Looks like I somewhat can.
